Gene Raymond Coleman

Gene Raymond Coleman of Halifax, VA passed away June 26, 2018.  He was born in Bedford County, VA on February 26, 1934 and was 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Raymond Paul Coleman and the late Lollie Catherine Fuqua Coleman. He was married to Charlotte Avis Hite Coleman who survives.   He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church and retired from Virginia Power as Operations Supervisor.  He was an avid bird hunter and Bird Dog trainer participating in Bird Dog Field Trails, member of Sportsman Club, Greens Folly and Halifax County Country Club. Gene loved working his land, growing watermelon, cantaloupe, and heirloom tomatoes and just being outside. He loved baseball and was a coach in Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth baseball leagues.   In addition to his wife Gene Raymond Coleman is survived by: One DaughterJoni C. Brown of Jacksonville, FL   A funeral service will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Dan River Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Gibson officiating.
