James Edward Hazelwood

James Edward Hazelwood of Halifax, VA passed away April 5, 2018.  He was born in Halifax County on September 7, 1923 and was 94 years of age. He was the son of the late John Thomas Hazelwood and the late Carrie Owen Hazelwood. He was married to the late Cora Lee Powell Hazelwood.   He attended Church of God of Prophecy.     James Edward Hazelwood is survived by: One DaughterJanie Guill and husband Wayne of Halifax, VA Two SonsJames (Bumpsie) Hazelwood and wife Eva of Scottsburg, VAJerry Lee Hazelwood and wife Margie of New Jersey Eleven Grandchildren Fifteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild Extended Family Ed, Alicia, Owen, and Harrison Hutchins of Raleigh, NC Host of Nieces and Nephews   ***Preceded in death by*** Two Infant ChildrenWilliam Warren Hazelwood and Helen Jean Hazelwood BrothersWillie, Johnnie, William, Josh, Tom, Robert, Hubert and Thompson SistersLucy Powell and Dora Mae Hazelwood   Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Church of God Prophecy with the Rev. Barbara Gravely and Rev. Tom Warren officiating.
