Ernest Lee "Ernie" Campbell

Mr. Ernest Lee “Ernie” Campbell of Halifax, VA passed away on March 31, 2018 at Salem Veterans Hospital. He was born in Bell, WV on October 20, 1935 and was 82 years old. He was the son of the late George W. Campbell and Goldie Campbell and was married to Annie May Moore Campbell who survives. He was a member of Fork Baptist Church, was a US Air Force Veteran, and was retired from Greens Folly Golf Course. Survivors include: Hiswife Annie May Moore Campbell of Halifax Onedaughter TammyCampbell Rice and husband David of South Boston Two sons BuddyCampbell and wife Amy of South Boston BillyCampbell and wife Tina of South Boston Two stepdaughters Faye Hammock Rudd and husband Mike of Roxboro, NC Jennifer A. Hammock of South Boston One Stepson Thomas Franklin Hammock and wife Donna of South Boston Eight grandchildren Seven great grandchildren Five step grandchildren Sixstep great grandchildren A memorial service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM of Tuesday, April 3, 2018 with Rev. Ron Rhew officiating. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home for 1 hour prior to the service and other times at his home, 1155 Murphy Grove Road, Halifax.
