Harry Burton Johnson, Jr.

Harry Burton Johnson, Jr. of Vernon Hill, VA passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018.  He was born in Halifax County, VA on January 18, 1952 and was 66 years of age. He was the son of the late Harry B. Johnson, Sr. and the late Ruth Estelle Nichols Johnson. He was married to Allison Weddell Johnson who survives.   He was United States Army Veteran where he served during the Vietnam Era. He was based at Giebelstadt Air Base in West Germany; he was detached to the Improved Hawk Missile System.  He was a founding member of Java Hunt Club and loved all things about the outdoors. Burton worked for VDOT at the Chatham Residency for 26 years. He was a skilled mechanic who could repair anything from a weed eater to a motor grader. His wealth of knowledge guided many a backyard mechanic.   In addition to his wife Mr. Johnson is survived by: His Loving companionsZoey and Buster A multitude of loving friends   A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
