Mabel Saunders Hudson

Mrs. Mabel Saunders Hudson of Halifax, VA passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Halifax County on July 15, 1933 and was 84 years old.  She was the daughter of the late Edward Isaac Saunders and Estelle Overstreet Saunders and was married to the late Charlie Dabney Hudson III. She was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Two daughters Susan Hudson Osborne (Michael) of Colonial Heights Mary Jane Hudson Collie (Dwayne) of Halifax One son Charlie Dabney “Chuck” Hudson IV (Penny) of Danville One brother John Saunders of Nathalie Two sisters Nancy Foster (J.C.) of Waynesboro Jean Farmer (Johnny) of Chase City Five grandchildren Shay Osborne (Sarah) of Winchester Leanna Collie of Roanoke Ethan Collie of Halifax Will Hudson of Washington, DC Connor Hudson of Danville Two great grandchildren Micah and Naomi Osborne Devoted companion Lucy her pug Preceded by siblings Alice Saunders, Pat Saunders, Luke Saunders, and Jimmy Saunders A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at McKendree United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Brown, Rev. Michael Osborne, and Rev. Shay Osborne officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
