SALLY LOU HOLLINGSHEAD LAMBRECHT of Summerfield, NC, daughter of the late Estell Charles and Fay Willham Hollingshead, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2017.  Family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Powell Funeral Home, 1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592, from 5 PM until 7 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 2 o'clock in the Summerfield United Methodist Church, 2334 Scalesville Rd, Summerfield, NC. There will be reception following the service at the Church. Sally is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Arthur Glen Lambrecht, and their four sons: Kurt and wife, Amy; Charles and wife, Nan; Paul and wife Ginger; and Bruce and wife, Hilary. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grand child: Katie, Rachel, Jenny, David, Sam, Malcolm, Rosie, Charlie, Gena, Mollie, Sam, Isaac, and Jack. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Hollingshead and is survived by her sister, Nancy Dobson. Sally was born on June 10, 1931, in Sharon, PA. After graduating from Sharon High School in 1949, Sally received a B.A. in Art Education from Edinboro College in 1953 and an M.A. in Art Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1957. She taught for 33 years in the public schools of Pennsylvania and Virginia, her students ranging in age from kindergarten to college. Sally was an accomplished professional artist and a committed community volunteer. Sally earned prestigious Signature Status in national and state watercolor societies: National Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Virginia Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of North Carolina, and Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. In South Boston, Virginia, Sally was involved in many art projects including serving as the first president of Parsons-Bruce Art Association, a chapter of the Virginia Museum, and vice-chairman of the Halifax County Festival of the Arts. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Prayer Garden at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 701 N Main St, South Boston, VA 24592. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Forever Young and Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for care of Sally.
