Richard Eugene Williams

Richard Eugene Williams of South Boston, VA passed away May 17, 2017.  He was born in Person County, NC on May 8, 1949 and was 68 years of age. He was the son of the late Richard Williams and the late Vannie Daniel Williams. He was married to Myrtle Mae Martin Williams who survives.   He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.     Richard Eugene Williams is survived by: Two Step-sons Rusty Perkins and wife Melody of Scottsburg, VA Raymond Perkins and wife Carolyn of South Boston, VA Five Step-grandchildren Two Sisters Linda Shotwell and husband Richard of Rock Hill, SC Delores Kennedy of South Boston, VA   Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:A.M. at Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Bryant officiating. Burial to follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends Friday, May 19, 2017 from 5:00 until 6:30 at Powell Funeral Home and other times his home of 1311 Shepard Street, South Boston, VA 24592.   For memorials please consider a charity of your choice.   **The family requests that no one wear perfume or cologne due to health issues**   Online condolences may be directed to www.powellfuneralinc.com.   Arrangements are by: Powell Funeral Home, 1603 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, VA 24592.
