Joe Thomas Fisher, Jr.

Mr. Joe Thomas Fisher, Jr. of Halifax, VA passed away April 4, 2017 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.  He was born in Halifax County on June 8, 1926 and was 90 years of age. He was the son of the late Joe T. Fisher, Sr. and the late Effie Farris Fisher. He was married to Justyne Bennett Fisher who survives.   He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church where he was a past superintendent of Sunday School and served on many committees.  He served during World War II in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent. He was a Mason for 50 years in Halifax Lodge 96, a member of VFW and American Legion Post 8.   Mr. Joe Thomas Fisher, Jr. is survived by: His wife of 74 years Justyne B. Fisher One Son Joe T.
