Nancy Cross Johnston

Mrs. Nancy Cross Johnston of South Boston, VA passed away March 22, 2017 at Commonwealth Assisted Living.  She was born in Eden, NC on April 19, 1937 and was 79 years old. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Cross, Sr. and the late Winnie Saunders Cross. She was married to the late John Linwood Johnston, Sr.   She was a member of First Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. She was a retired English educator and Chairman of the Guidance Department of Halifax County Public Schools.   Mrs. Nancy Cross Johnston is survived by: One SonLinwood Johnston, Jr. of Calabash, NC One Granddaughter Ashley Ellen Johnston of Calabash, NC One Brother Robert L. Cross, Jr. of South Carolina   ***Preceded in death*** Sister-in-law Hazel Page Cross   Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Ballance and Rev. Susan Davis officiating.
