Areta Saunders Toombs

Mrs. Areta Saunders Toombs of Halifax, VA passed away March 5, 2017.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on November 5, 1918 and was 98 years of age. She was the daughter of the late William James Saunders and the late Mattie Strange Saunders. She was married to the late John Alvin Toombs.   She was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church.     Mrs. Areta Saunders Toombs is survived by: Two Daughters Jo Anne Williams and husband Ray of South Boston, VA Shirley Wood of Halifax, VA Two Grandchildren David Williams and wife Ashley of Irmo, SC Amy Gregory and husband Tim of Chatham, VA Two Great Grandchildren Ava Williams of Irmo, SC Caleb Williams of Irmo, SC Host of nieces and nephews   ***Preceded in death by*** One Son-in-law Dale Wood Six Sisters and four Brothers   Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Beth Car with the Rev. Dr. Eldridge Cullum officiating.
