Helen Satterfield Hayes

Mrs. Helen Satterfield Hayes of South Boston, VA passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Sentara Woodview.  She was born November 13, 1920 in Halifax County, VA and was 96 years old.  She was the daughter of the late William Walter Satterfield and the late Maggie Jones Satterfield and was married first to the late Clarence David Gravitt, Sr., who was the father of her children, then to the late William Young and then to the late Robert Morgan Hayes.   She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church.  She retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service.   Mrs. Helen Satterfield Hayes is survived by: Two Daughters Frances Jeanette Pollard of Richmond, VA Virginia Gravitt Hilton of Charlottesville, VA One Son Clarence David Gravitt, Jr. and wife Charlotte of St. Stephens Church, VA Seven Grandchildren Thirteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Granddaughter One Sister Velvie Gholson of Richmond,VA ***Preceded in death by Fifteen Siblings   Family  graveside services will be held on Saturday , February 25,2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Virgilina Cemetery with the Rev.
