Hunter Edward Conner

Mr. Hunter Edward Conner of South Boston, VA passed away January 30, 2017.  He was born in Halifax County on August 15, 1939 and was 77 years of age. He was the son of the late Thomas Edward Conner and the late Mary Liza Compton Conner. He was married to the late Mary Watts Conner.   He was a member of McCandless United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 8 and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He retired after 20 years of service from the United States Army where he served two tours during the Vietnam Era.    Mr. Hunter Edward Conner is survived by: Three Sisters Elsie Conner of Halifax, VA Mary Louise Brooks of Climax, VA Nettie Conner of South Boston, VA A number of Nieces and Nephews Care givers William Watts and Amie Clowdis   ***Preceded in death by*** Three Brothers Grover, Alfred and Andrew Conner Two Sisters Susie Jones and Margaret Conner   Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating.
