Spottswood Strickland Davis

Mrs. Spottswood Strickland Davis of Nathalie, VA passed away January 20, 2017.  She was born in Halifax County, VA on May 30, 1927 and was 89 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Linwood Strickland and the late Lillian Crews Strickland. She was married to the late John Bradley Davis.   She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Republican Grove. She was a retired seamstress and also retired cafeteria worker from Sydnor Jennings  Elementary School.   Mrs. Spottswood Strickland Davis is survived by: Two Daughters Joan Richardson (Kenneth) of Nathalie Kathy Pierce of Sutherlin Five Grandchildren Jennifer Tickle, Stephanie Mahan, Sara Evans, Preston Pierce, Seth Dunlap Nine Greatgrandchildren One Sister, Jean Oakes of Alton One Brother, Lee Strickland (Julie) of White Sands, NM   ***Preceded in death by*** Four Sisters Linwood Guthrie, Alice Chappell, Frances Strickland and Mary Saunders Four Brothers Alvin Strickland, Thomas Strickland, Edward Strickland and Aubrey Tune Strickland     Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 4:00 pm, at The First Baptist Church of Republican Grove with the Rev.
