Doris Bowles Harlow

Mrs. Doris Bowles Harlow of South Boston, VA passed away January 12, 2017.  She was born in Gouchland, VA on August 30, 1941 and was 75 years old. She was the daughter of the late George H. Bowles and the late Annie Thurston Bowles. She was married to the late Rev. Paul Eugene Harlow.   She was a member of Fork Baptist Church and a faithful servant of God. She was also a former insurance salesperson with American General and Home Beneficial.     Mrs. Doris Bowles Harlow is survived by: One Daughter Sarah H. Elliott and husband Jerry of Scottsburg, VA One Son John Paul Harlow and wife Tammy of Virgilina, VA Three Grandchildren Jessica Elliott of Scottsburg, VA Taylor Elliott of Scottsburg, VA Sean P. Harlow of Virgilina, VA One Sister Mary E. Adams of Powhatan, VA One Brother James W. Bowles of Cumberland, VA   ***Preceded in death by*** One Brother, George A. Bowles One Sister, Louise Bowles   Funeral services will be held, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Warfield and Rev. Ron Rhew officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery.  A reception to follow in fellowship hall will follow burial.   The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sarah and Jerry Elliott, 1140 John B.
