Thomas Jefferson Myers

Thomas Jefferson Myers, age 94, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Halifax, VA.  He was born on April 28, 1922 in Halifax County, Virginia, a son of the late William Madison Myers Sr. and Minnie Kate Boaze of Halifax, VA.  He was married to the former Ruth Perkins. He is survived by a sister, Kate M. Tickle of Arlington, VA and a brother, James Monroe Myers of Gretna, VA.  He was predeceased by Little Catherine Myers, Virginia M. Perry, Pauline M. Self, Estelle M. Jones, William Madison Myers, Jr, George Washington Myers, Daniel Thomas Myers, Woodrow Wilson Myers, Robert Lee Myers, Robert E. Lee Myers, and Harry Byrd Myers.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Mr. Myers was employee of ParGAS Propane for 33 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a committed Christian for most of his life.  He also quietly helped many people in need. The family sends a very special thank you to his personal caregiver, Scott Crowder and to the staff at Banister Senior Services Home. We are truly grateful for the loving care given to him during the last four years.    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Powell Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev.
