Melvin Lee Stevens

Mr. Melvin Lee Stevens, Sr. of Halifax passed away October 26, 2016.  He was born in Halifax County on November 14, 1941 and was 74 years of age. He was the son of the late Clyde Odell Stevens and the late Louise Holt Stevens. He was married to Cheryl Crews Stevens who survives.   He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post 8 and was a Past Commander. He also was a US Army Vietnam Era Veteran and had a passion for music and through his music loved ministering to others.   Mr. Melvin Lee Stevens, Sr. is survived by: His Wife Cheryl Crews Stevens One Daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Thompson and husband Barry of Virgilina, VA One Son Melvin Lee Stevens, II and wife Kristie of South Boston, VA Two Brothers Ray Stevens and wife Barbara of Cleveland, TN John Stevens and wife Shela of Nathalie, VA Three Grandchildren Zack Thompson and wife Medina of Nashville, TN Allison Stevens of South Boston, VA Madison Stevens of South Boston, VA His devoted four legged companion Little Bud   Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Stewart and Rev. Norman Talley officiating.
