Mr. Melvin Lee Stevens, Sr. of Halifax passed away October 26, 2016. He was born in Halifax County on November 14, 1941 and was 74 years of age. He was the son of the late Clyde Odell Stevens and the late Louise Holt Stevens. He was married to Cheryl Crews Stevens who survives. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post 8 and was a Past Commander. He also was a US Army Vietnam Era Veteran and had a passion for music and through his music loved ministering to others. Jack Stewart and Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites.
