Robert Emerson Edney

Mr. Robert Emerson Edney of Halifax, VA passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born February 23, 1921 in Polk County, NC and was 95 years old.  He was the son of the late Robert Grayson Edney and the late Estelle Butler Edney and was married to the late Betty Gibbs Edney.   He was a member of the First Baptist Church and retired forester.  He also was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran.   Mr. Robert Emerson Edney is survived by: Two Daughters Ann Edney-Pyle and husband Gary of Chesapeake, VA Patricia Edney Doucette and husband Steve of Virginia Beach, VA Two Granddaughters Ashley Williams and husband John of Virginia Beach, VA Jesse Mino and husband Brandon of Virginia Beach, VA Three Great Grandchildren Ava and Cece Mino of Virginia Beach, VA Phobe Williams of Virginia Beach, VA Special friend, Elizabeth Owen of South Boston A number of nieces and nephews ***Preceded in death by*** One brother, James Edney One sister, Virginia Edney Blanton   A memorial service will be held at a later date.
