Mr. Thomas Clyde Morris, Jr. of Halifax passed away October 19, 2016. He was born in Halifax County, VA on November 7, 1943 and was 72 years old. He was the son of the late Thomas Clyde Morris, Sr. and the late Bessie Farmer Morris. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Lacks Morris, of 52 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he sang in the choir in years past, and a former member of Bethel Ruritan Club. He was the owner and operator of Morris Auto Service. Bagshaw of Fredericksburg, VA Sue M. Solomon of Ashland, VA Sister-in-law Corlis L. Nichols of South Boston, VA Brother-in-law Elijah Lacks of Roanoke Rapids, NC Five nieces and two nephews Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond “Butch” Moorefield officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home of 1060 Morris Lane, Halifax, VA.
