Mary Blanks Powell

Mrs. Mary Blanks Powell of South Boston passed away October 18, 2016.  She was born in Halifax County on April 6, 1933 and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Harry Gardner Blanks and the late Estelle Trottman Blanks. She was also married to the late Victor Henry Powell.   She was a member of Beth Carr Baptist Church.     Mrs. Mary Blanks Powell is survived by: One Daughter Vickie P. Shelton and husband Winfred of Scottsburg, VA One Son Thomas Gardner Powell of Richmond, VA One Brother Nat Blanks of Richmond, VA Three Grandchildren James Walter Shelton and wife Donna of South Boston, VA Jenifer Lynn Shelton Jones and husband Simon Jones, Jr. of South Boston, VA Stephanie Powell of Richmond, VA Greatgrandchildren Paige Shelton and Kennedy Jones   ***Preceded in death by*** Her Parents Harry G. and Estelle Trottman Blanks Her Husband Victor Henry Powell Two Brothers Ben Blanks and Harry Blanks, Jr.   Funeral service will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Warfield officiating.
