Mrs. Clara Hammock Montgomery Puckett of Halifax, VA passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at her home. She was born December 25, 1925 in Halifax County, VA and was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Dana Hammock and the late Sarah Talbott Hammock. She was a member of the Winns Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Burlington Industries. Mrs. Clara Hammock Montgomery Puckett is survived by: Two Sons Eugene Montgomery of Halifax Daniel Ray Montgomery and wife Deborah of Halifax Four Grandchildren Monica Plainte and husband Mike of Pilot Mountain, NC Daryl Montgomery of Halifax Michael Montgomery and wife Crystal of Spencer, VA Amanda Montgomery of Scottsburg Five Great Grandchildren One Brother Bo Hammock of Gretna, VA Two Sisters Ruby Talbott of Lynchburg, VA Nita Adams of Danville, VA ***Preceded in death by*** Four brothers and two sisters One daughter-in-law, Linda Montgomery   Funeral services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Winns Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Kopco officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Winns Creek Baptist Church and other times at the home of Daniel Montgomery, 1060 Montgomery Lane, Halifax, VA.
