Mrs. Eva Carol Walker Gordon of South Boston, VA passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, NC. She was born in Halifax County, VA, the daughter of the late Thomas Walker and Ethel Elizabeth Walker and was married to the late Dr. Rufus Henry Gordon. She was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church. Survivors include: One daughter Patricia Popek Hicks and husband Paul of Farmville, VA Two sons James Francis “Jimmy” Popek and wife Daphne of South Boston Patrick Frank Popek and wife Lynn of Charles City One step-son Jim Gordon of Charlotte, NC Three sisters Shirley Crews and husband David of Nathalie Jean Drake and husband Don of Buena Vista Debra Pryor and husband Ron of Keysville One sister-in-law Sharon Walker of Midlothian Two grandchildren James F. Popek III of Richmond Mary Allison Popek of South Boston She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Seamster and Nathan Walker A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Paschal Catholic Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 PM.
