Christina Thompson Bowen

Mrs. Christina Thompson Bowen of Halifax passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Sentara Woodview. She was born in Rowan Co, North Carolina on July 19, 1935 and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Jason Middleton and the late Nina Bell Brotherton Thompson. She was married to the late Burrell Ray Bowen, Sr.   She was a member of the San Jose Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL, and she attended Aarons Creek Baptist Church.   Mrs. Christina Thompson Bowen is survived by: One son Burrell Ray Bowen Jr. and wife Bonnie of South Boston Three Grandchildren Brian Chandler and wife Aleta of Gray, TN Leeann Thornton and husband Robert of Hopewell, NJ Riley Chandler and wife Heather of Waynesboro VA Five great grandchildren Two sisters Evelyn T. Tuck and husband Mark of Crewe, VA Mary Smith of Richmond, VA One brother Presley Thompson and with Gladys of Richmond, VA   ***Preceded in death by*** Four sisters Three brothers   Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating.
