Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Bennett of South Boston, VA passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, VA on January 24, 1964 and was 52 years old at his death. He was the son of the late Ray Algie Bennett and Sallie Bett Allen Bennett. Ronnie was a highly revered hair stylist, noted chef, and decorator. He was a friend to all and loved by all who knew him. He never met a stranger. One of his greatest loves was the beach and he was able to spend some time at the beach last week with special friends and family. Survivors include: Three sisters Paulette Daniel of South Boston, Angela Boyd and husband Tony of Roxboro, NC,  Mechelle Bullard and husband David of Fuqua Varina, NC, two brothers Brownie Allen Bennett of Clover Roger Bennett and wife LaVerne of Scottsburg.  Also, a special niece Kaitlon Boyd of South Boston, two God Sons Chandler and Gavin Bridgers of South Boston, a sister-in-law, Alice Bennett of Scottsburg, and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his biological mother, Rosa Ann Neal.  A Celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held in the gymnasium at the Halifax Christian School on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM with Rev. T. Wayne Daniel officiating. The family will receive friends at the Halifax Christian School for one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Bill and Shannon Blanks, 600 Forest Drive, South Boston, VA. Those wishing to give memorials in Ronnie’s honor should consider the Kim Bosiger Scholarship Fund.
