Dorothy Powell Lacks

Mrs. Dorothy Powell Lacks of Halifax, VA passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at her home. She was born in Halifax County, VA on December 18, 1913 and was 102 years old. She was the daughter of the late George C. Powell and the late Eva Bliss Powell and was married to the late Heno C. Lacks, Sr.   She was a member of the Revelation Baptist Church.   Mrs. Dorothy Powell Lacks is survived by: Three Daughters Evelyn Lacks Dickerson and husband Alfred of Halifax Betty Lacks Bailey of Kittrell, NC Agnes Lacks Harris of Henderson, NC Four Grandchildren Ten Great Grandchildren Seven Great-Great Grandchildren One Brother Runt Powell and wife Diane of South Boston Three Sisters Margaret Canada of South Boston Elsie P. Owen of South Boston Mary Lee Smith of Scottsburg ***Preceded in death by*** One Son, Heno Cornelius Lacks, Jr. Four brothers and five sisters   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at11:00 A.M. at the Revelation Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Coghill and the Rev. Kenny Dunn               officiating.
