Mr. Thurman Forrest Perkins, Sr. of Halifax passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016. He was born in Halifax County on January 6, 1935 and was 81 years old. He was the son of the late Joseph Perkins and the late Mamie Lee Simmons Perkins. He was also married to Connie Snead Perkins who survives. He was a member of Union United Methodist Church. He retired as Chief of Police for the Town of Halifax, former owner of Mountain Road Diner and worked at Burlington Industries as a technician.
