Annie McCormick Womack

Mrs. Annie McCormick Womack of Vernon Hill passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County, VA on October 18, 1931 and was 84 years old. She was the Daughter of the late William Linwood McCormick and Florida McCormick and was married to the late William Brann “Willie” Womack. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was retired from Tultex. Survivors include: Two Daughters Virginia Ann Womack of South Boston Nita Womack Kerns and husband B of Vernon Hill Two brothers Lawrence McCormick and wife Doris of Halifax Bill McCormick of Forrest Three sisters Francis Womack of Vernon Hill Gladys Throckmorton of Scottsburg Patsy Holcomb and husband Tommy of Nathalie One grandson MV Kerns of Vernon Hill One granddaughter- in-law Kelly Ratliff Kerns of Halifax Great grandchildren Abigail Kerns and Kaitlyn Dockery of Halifax Colin Kerns of Vernon Hill She was also preceded in death by one grandson, JB. Kerns, Three brothers, Charlie McCormick, Bud McCormick, and David McCormick, and One sister, Peggy Murray.   A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bill Wilkins and Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Womack Family Cemetery at Vernon Hill. Visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at her home.   For memorials, please consider the Oak Level Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
