Helen Gibson Rackley

Mrs. Helen Gibson Rackley of South Boston passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016.  She was born in Halifax County, NC on November 15, 1922 and was 93 years old.   She was the daughter of the late Berry Gibson and the late Roxie Anna Neal Gibson Rogers. She was also married to the late David Harold Rackley, Sr.   She was a member of First Baptist Church.   Mrs. Helen Gibson Rackley is survived by: Two Daughters Pamela Smith of South Boston, VA  Wanda Perkins and husband Les of South Chesterfield, VA Nine Grandchildren Lawrence P.  Smith, III and wife Andrea of South Boston, VA Ryan W. Smith and wife Sara of Springfield, VA David H. Rackley, III and wife Joann of Rocky Mt, NC Shannon Holloman and husband Sonny of Chesterfield, VA Cherie Rackley of Richmond, VA Benjamin M. Perkins of South Chesterfield, VA Joshua M. Perkins of South Chesterfield, VA Zachary H. Perkins of South Chesterfield, VA Karianne P. Thompson and husband Chris of Richmond, VA Nine Great Grandchildren Host of Nieces and Nephews   ***Preceded in death by*** Her Parents Berry and Roxie Anna Neal Gibson Rogers One Son David Harold Rackley, Jr. and wife Catherine One Son-in-law Lawrence P. Smith, Jr.   Funeral service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Ballance and Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
