Jerry Willie Gilmore

Mr. Jerry Willie Gilmore of Richmond and formerly of Scottsburg, VA passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. He was born in Halifax County on May 21, 1941 and was 74 years old.  He was the son of the late Clarence Powell and the late Rosie Lee Gilmore James.   He was a member of New Hope CME Church of Clays Mill.   Mr. Jerry Willie Gilmore is survived by: One Daughter Rosa James Penick of Frederick, MD One Son Pichon Gilmore of Baltimore, MD Seven Grandchildren Shana Coote and devoted son-in-law Norman of Waterbury, CT Timothy James of Frederick, MD Brittney Sydnor of Scottsburg, VA Whitney Lambert of Frederick, MD Lindayle Lambert, of Frederick, MD Chardaye Lambert of Saxe, VA Kurtis Lambert of Saxe, VA Eleven Great Grandchildren Three Aunts Hilda Dixon, Mary King, and Sylvia Filmore   ***Preceded in death by*** His Parents Clarence Powell and Rosie Lee Gilmore James One Aunt Marie Breedlove   Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blanche Stewart officiating.   The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
