Dorothy Martin

Mrs. Dorothy Thompson Martin of South Boston passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was born in Halifax County, VA on April 21, 1927 and was 88 years old. She was the daughter of the late Avery Thompson and Esther Guthrie Thompson. She was also married to the late Robert Martin.   She was a member of Centerville Baptist Church. She worked at Craddock & Terry, Burlington Industries and was owner and beautician of Town & Country Beauty Shop.   Mrs. Dorothy Thompson Martin is survived by: One Sister Rachel Thompson Smith of South Boston, VA Three Brothers Joseph Thompson and wife Martha of Rocky Mount, NC David Thompson and wife Dale of Concord, VA Larry Thompson and wife Jean of Lynchburg, VA A number of Nieces and Nephews   ***Preceded in death by*** Her Parents Avery O. Thompson and Esther Guthrie Thompson Her Husband Robert Martin Three Sisters Ollie T. Waller Margaret T. Wilborn Janie T. Wooding Three Brothers Charlie B. Thompson John R. Thompson James D. Thompson   Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Todd McClure and Rev.
