John Raymond "Bud" Covington

Mr. John Raymond “Bud” Covington of Nathalie, VA passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Sentara Woodview. He was born August 10, 1941 in Halifax County, VA and was 74 years old. He was the son of the late Tucker Lee Covington and the late Lillie Ashby Covington.   He was member of the Childrey Baptist Church and a retired farmer.   Mr. John Raymond “Bud” Covington is survived by: One Sister Kathy C. Jones of Nathalie A number of nieces and nephews Special nephews, Jeff and Monty Kelly who lived with “Bud” ***Preceded in death by*** Three Brothers Luther and Henry Singleton James Covington Four Sisters Mary Conner, Ella Sue Shelton, Virginia C. Kelly and Janie L. Covington   Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Childrey Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Stanfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends Monday, February 1, 2016 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home.   For memorials please consider a charity of your choice.
