Charlie Talcott Nichols,Jr.

Mr. Charlie Talcott Nichols, Jr. of South Boston passed away January 17, 2016. He was born in the Halifax County, VA on September 9, 1925 and was 90 years old.  He was the son of the late Charles T. Nichols, Sr. and the late Martha Ann Crews Nichols. He was married to Laura Huskey Nichols who survives.   He was a member of First Baptist Church of South Boston. He served in the United States Marines during World War II and he retired from Export Leaf as a tobacconist.   Mr. Charlie Talcott Nichols, Jr. is survived by: His Wife Laura Nichols of the home Two Sisters Mary Ann Nichols Perkins and husband Ron Eloise Nichols Hedderly and husband Charles Five Nieces and Three Nephews Two Stepchildren David Ford and wife Vernelle of Cornelius, NC Donna Ross and husband Wayne of Roxboro, NC Two Step Grandchildren Four Step Great Grandchildren Special Niece Suzanne Hedderly of Richmond, VA   ***Preceded in death by*** His Parents Charles T. Nichols, Sr. and Martha Ann Crews Nichols First Wife Nell Tuck Nichols Special Nephew Preston Whitehead Two Sisters Clarice Nichols Whitehead Sarah Nichols Franklin One Half-Brother Carroll Nichols One Half-Sister Janie Nichols Marshall   Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of South Boston with the Rev. Bob Ballance, Rev Susan Davis and Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. Burial to follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.   The family will receive friends Thursday, January 21, 2016 one hour prior to the service and other times at his home of 210 Merritt Street, South Boston, VA.
