Jimmy Ray Gregory

Mr. Jimmy Ray Gregory of South Boston, VA passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home. He was born in Halifax County May 9, 1941 and was 74 years old. He was the son on the late Robert Howard Gregory and the late Hattie Lucille Canada Gregory and was married to Ruth Owen Gregory who survives. He was a member of Catawba Baptist Church and was retired from the Halifax County School System as an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor. Survivors include: His wife Ruth Owen Gregory of South Boston, VA One son Howard Gregory and wife Lariza of Chesterfield, VA Two grandsons Hunter Gregory of Kent, MN Harrison Gregory of Chesterfield, VA One brother William David Gregory of Roxboro, NC He was preceded in death by one sister, Colleen G. Woody, and three brothers, Ronald Howard Gregory, Kelsey (Sam) Gregory, and Bobby Lee Gregory. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddy Woody and Deacon Al Garrett officiating.
