Charlie Samuel Overby

Mr. Charlie “Bear” Samuel Overby, Jr. of Virgilina, VA passed away December 30, 2015. He was born in Halifax County on September 2, 1932 and was 83 years old. He was the son of the late Charlie Samuel Overby, Sr. and the late Willie Buntin Overby.   He attended Hitesburg Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.   Mr. Charlie “Bear” Samuel Overby, Jr. is survived by: Three Sisters Deborah O. Wilkins of Alton, VA Helen O. Hill and husband Walter of Gretna, VA Mary Ann O. Stanley of Nathalie, VA Two Brothers Lynn Overby and wife Annie Sue of Virgilina, VA Ronnie Overby and wife Marie of Halifax, VA A number of Nieces and Nephews Brother-in-law Dean Tuck of Lynchburg, VA   ***Preceded in death by*** Two Brothers John Epps Overby Raymond Rogers Overby One Sister Frances O. Tuck   Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 3:00P.M. at Hitesburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Riley and Charles Overby officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with Military Rites.   The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hitesburg Baptist Church.   In lieu of flowers, please consider the charity of your choice.
