David Henry Woods

Mr. David Henry Woods of Halifax, VA passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at his home. He was born in Mecklenburg County on February 23, 1949 and was 66 years old. He was the son of the late Alonzo Destroy Woods and Edna Green Woods. He was a US Army Vietnam Conflict Veteran and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include: Three daughters Tina Elizabeth Newcomb and husband Harvey of Drakes Branch Amy Lynette Woods of South Boston Angel Faith Toone of South Hill One son David Anthony “Andy” Woods and wife Stephanie of South Boston One sister Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Hostetler of Wylliesburg One brother Alonzo Ray “Lonnie” Woods and wife Patsy of Wylliesburg Ten grandchildren Twelve great grandchildren A number of Nieces and Nephews A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Amy Lynette Woods, 1318 Owens Avenue, South Boston.
