Virginia Clark

Virginia Barksdale Clark of Scottsburg, Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Sentara Halifax Regional. Mrs. Clark, 88, was born October 29, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Kent Clark, her daughter, Brenda Clark Swift, her parents Charlie B. and Susie M Barksdale. Mrs. Clark was survived by her daughter, Diane C. Wilmoth of Scottsburg, Virginia, adopted son, Mike McFadden of Scottsburg, Virginia,  sisters, Bertha B Landrum of South Boston, Hilda B. Martin of Dallas, North Carolina, Elizabeth B. Martin of Halifax, and a brother, Dudley B. Barksdale of South Boston, Virginia. She was also survived by two grand-daughters, Cheryl Sanders and husband, Jim of Ashland, Virginia and Jennifer  Clarke and husband, Eddie of Beaver Dam, Virginia. In addition, she was survived by one great grand-daughter, Emily Clarke of Beaver Dam, Virginia and one son-n-law, Jim Swift of Beaver Dam, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.  on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Powell Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tony Brooks and Rev. Barry Chambers.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.   Those wishing to give memorials should consider The Halifax County Cancer Association, P.O.
