Augusta Garland Lewis

Mr. Augusta Garland "A.G." Lewis of South Boston, VA passed away November 16, 2015. He was born in Halifax County, VA on November 29, 1920 and was 94 years old. He was the son of the late Odie C. Lewis and the late Nannie Clay Lewis. He was married to the late Frenchy Reaves Lewis. He was a member of Dan River Baptist Church, and he served in the United States Army during World War II. He was past Post Commander and Honor Guard member of the American Legion Post 8. He was also a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8243 of Halifax and a member of Hyco Ruritan Club where he received the Tom Downing award. Mr. Augusta Garland "A.G." Lewis and wife Patti of Virgilina, VA Six Grandchildren Mary Ashley Pressman, Travis A. Lewis, Jessica L. Martin, Tyler B. Lewis, Sarah A. Lewis and Anna M. Lewis Two Sisters Doris Lewis Winn Margaret Lewis Roeby Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 2:30P.M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military honors.
