Maggie Overby

Mrs. Maggie Conner Overby of Halifax County passed away November 12, 2015. She was born in Halifax County on July 30, 1918 and was 97 years old. She was the daughter of the late Frank Lucas Conner and the late Edna McKinney Conner. She was married to the late Luther Malma Overby. She was a member of South Boston Church of God and was retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Factory. Mrs. Maggie Conner Overby is survived by: One Daughter Myrna Temple Overby Farmer and husband Leroy of Halifax, VA One Sister Anna C. Lloyd of South Boston, VA Five Grandchildren Jimmie Farmer and wife Karen of Tampa, FL Timmie Farmer of Halifax, VA Kim Farmer of Halifax, VA Chip Slate and wife Joncie of Halifax, VA Missy S. Henderson of Halifax, VA Ten Great Grandchildren ***Preceded in death by*** Her Parents Frank Lucas and Edna McKinney Conner Her Husband Luther Malma Overby One Daughter Doris Overby Slate Three Brothers Willie Frank Conner, Acree Conner and Ernest Conner Four Sisters Edna Conner Hudson, Liz Conner Smith, Gracie Conner Hudson and Prosie Conner Armistead Graveside service will be held Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 P.M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Rev T. Wayne Daniels officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 14 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Myrna Overby Farmer, 2193 Mountain Road, Halifax, VA.
