Shirley Saunders

Mrs. Shirley Glass Saunders of Halifax County, VA passed away October 19, 2015. She was born in Halifax County, VA on April 19, 1937. She was 78 years old. She was the child of the late Norman Glass and the late Recie Ann King Glass. She was also married to the late Claudie James Saunders. She was a member of Winns Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Shirley Glass Saunders is survived by: One Daughter Rebecca "Billie" Clark and husband David "Peewee" of South Boston, VA One Son Phillip Saunders and wife Wanda of Halifax, VA Four Grandchildren Christopher Clark and wife Stephanie of South Boston, VA Christiana C. Crosby and husband Chris of South Boston, VA Amelia S. Clements and husband Nathan of Timberlake, NC P.J. Saunders of Halifax, VA Two Great Grandchildren Levi and Teagan Clark One Brother Noel Glass and wife Margaret of Halifax, VA Special Friends Happy, Kenneth, and Johnny Special Dog Big Boy ***Preceded in death by*** Her Parents Norman Glass and Recie Ann King Glass Four Sisters Carrie Midkiff, Janie Daniel, Barbara Ann Viar and Louise Lester Four Brothers Roy "Woody" Glass, Acie Glass, Hampton Glass and Thomas Glass Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Kopco officiating. Burial will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 21 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home of Phil Saunders, 1079 Davis Lane, Halifax, VA
