Mr. Lucas Carrington Nichols of Halifax County, VA passed away October 12, 2015. He was born in Halifax County, VA on February 21, 1935. He was 80 years old. He was the son of the late Mack Nichols, Sr. and Ada Fallen Nichols. He was married to Orpha Gilliam Nichols. He was a member of Winns Creek Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. Mr. Lucas Carrington Nichols is survived by: His Wife Orpha Gilliam Nichols of the home Three Daughters Gene Cabrera of Halifax, VA Debbie Hogue and husband Kenneth of Pompano Beach, FL Kathy Ethredge of St. Petersburg, FL Five Grandchildren One Great Granddaughter A number of Nieces and Nephews ***Preceded in death by*** One Daughter Denise Schwartz One Brother Mack Nichols, Jr. One Sister Marjorie Dalton His Parents Mack Nichols Sr. and Ada Fallen Nichols Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Winns Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Kopco officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. other times at his home 2028 Clays Mill Road, Halifax, VA.
