Miriam White Burton of Scottsburg, VA passed away October 5, 2015 at her home. She was born in Halifax County, VA on August 13, 1922. She was 93 years old. She was the child of the late Hampton White and the late Hattie Guill White. She was also married to the late Clinton Clyde "CC" Burton. She was an active member of Winns Creek Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and made flower arrangements and used her artistic talents for decorating the church. She was a member of the Parsons Bruce Art Association, Eastern Star, Halifax Womans Club, and Banister River Garden Club. She was an artist with much of her artwork on display in Halifax County and throughout the United States and even in Mexico. She had a painting and flower arrangement displayed in the Virginia Museum of Art. She also enjoyed sewing. For many years she owned and operated Triangle Florist in Halifax, VA. Jim Kopco and Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
