Minnie Viola Saunders Glass

Mrs. Minnie Viola Saunders Glass, formerly of the Hunting Creek community of Nathalie, VA passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Seasons at the Woodview. She was born in Halifax County on April 19, 1922 and was 93 years old. She was the daughter of the late Bernard David Saunders and the late Nannie Virginia St. John Saunders and was married to the late Fred Thornton Glass. She was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: One sister Louise Meadows of Richmond, VA One brother Meade "Johnny" Saunders of Warsaw, VA She was preceded death by one daughter, Carolyn Glass Conner and one son, Melvin Glass. She was also preceded in death by eight sisters, Marie S. Smoot, Nadie Elizabeth S. Glass, Pauline S. Bettis, Ellie Odell S. Conner, Beulah Jane Saunders, Lola Carden Saunders, Martha Christine Saunders, and Myrtle Roslyn S. Steube, and by 8 brothers, Elwood Lee Saunders, Claudie J. Saunders, Howard David Saunders, Ernest Clifton Saunders, Linwood Saunders, Herman Alfred Saunders, Junior B. Saunders, and Lewis Daniel Saunders. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Hunting Creek Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Sean McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Kenneth and Judy Glass, 2188 TN Snow Road, Nathalie.
