Retired Chief Warrant Officer Mr. Ralph Perry Tolbert of Halifax, Virginia departed this life, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Lumpkin County, Georgia July 12, 1939 and was 75 years of age. He was the son of the late James Leon Tolbert, Sr. and Lena Belle Brown Tolbert and was married to Dale Marie Epps Tolbert. Mr. Tolbert retired as a CW3 from the United States Army, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Armed Cavalry with 22 years of service. Upon his retirement from the military, Mr. Tolbert went to work for the Virginia Department of Transportation and retired with 19 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge #219. Funeral Services for Mr. Ralph Perry Tolbert will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel . Burial will follow in Amelia Veteran's Cemetery.
