Russell Ivan "Shine" Puckett, Sr.

Mr. Russell Ivan "Shine" Puckett, Sr. of Scottsburg, Va. passed away Monday May 25, 2015 at his home. He was born November 8, 1926 in Halifax County, VA and was 88 years old. He was the son of the late Sambo Puckett and the late Vera West Puckett and was married to Maude Noel Puckett, who survives. He was a member of the Scottsburg Baptist Church, a WWII Navy veteran and was retired form J.P. Stevens where he was a loom fixer for 44 years. Mr. Russell Ivan "Shine" Puckett, Sr. is survived by: His Wife Maude Noel Puckett of Scottsburg Two Daughters Deborah P. Presnell and husband Barry of Goodview, VA Jean P. Griffin and husband Horace Lee of Virgilina, VA Two Sons Russell I. Puckett, Jr. and wife Sherry of Scottsburg Richard N. Puckett of Scottsburg Ten Grandchildren Seven Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Scottsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Smutz and the Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Scottsburg with military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at his home, 2241 Coleman Road, Scottsburg, VA.
