Ms. Pearl Puryear Thomason of South Boston, Virginia died Monday, May 18, 2015 at the home of her son. She was born in Clinton, North Carolina, November 22, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert William Puryear and Letha Watts Puryear. Ms. Thomason was a member of Black Walnut Baptist Church and was retired after 43 years with Burlington Industries. Ms. Pearl Puryear Thomason is survived by: One Son Maxwell Lane Thomason, Jr. and wife Beverly of South Boston One Daughter Terri Thomason Younger & husband Greg of South Boston Five Grandchildren Bridget Thomason, Max Thomason, Katie Thomason, Blake Younger and Autumn Younger Two Sisters Nancy P. Wilson & Eddie of Durham, NC ***Preceded in death by One Son, Dell Stacey Thomason One Brother, Owen Puryear Two Sisters, Wynette Oliver & Elsie Oakes Funeral Services for Ms. Pearl Puryear Thomason will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 P. M. with the Rev. Norman Talley & the Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomason Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Wednesday, from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at the home of her son, 3136 Huell Matthews Highway, South Boston, VA and the home of her daughter, 1055 Clark Jordon Trail, South Boston, VA.
