Mrs. Evelyn Lorraine Snead Ligon of Lynchburg and formerly of Halifax passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on June 13, 1925 and was 89 years old. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Bailey Snead and Florence Adele Snead and was married to the late Vivian Bryant Ligon. She was a beautician and was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Two daughters Vivien L. Waller of Lynchburg Robbie L. Mize and husband John of Lynchburg Grandchildren W. Bryant Cook and wife Natalia of Rustburg J. Page Eggleston and husband John of Rustburg Jamie S. Dale of Newport News One great granddaughter Morgan Jade Eggleston of Rustburg Son-in-law Julian M. Waller of Lynchburg Also preceded in death by two brothers, Kyle L. Snead and Kermit B. Snead A funeral service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg.
