James Eugene "Billy" Jones

Mr. James E. "Billy" Jones of Nathalie, VA passed away at his home on Monday, April 13, 2015. He was born in Halifax County on March 1, 1927 and was 88 years old. He was the son of the late Henry Otey Jones and Annie Sue Arendell Jones and was married to the late Beatrice Hamlett Jones. He was a former employee of the Halifax County School System bus shop and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include: Three daughters Sandra J. Clark and husband William of Oak Level Wanda J. Crews-Fallen and husband Clayton of Nathalie, VA Wendy J. Bass and husband Chris of Nathalie, VA One son Carroll Ray Jones and wife Gail of Lynch Station, VA Seven grandchildren Pam Clark and husband Herman Thomas of Halifax, VA Jennifer Rickmond and husband Kent of Smithfield, VA Alan Epps and wife April of Clover, VA Jamie Harvey and husband Michael of Warrenton, NC Derek Epps and wife Jess of Richardsville, VA Regina Harris and husband Mike of Reidsville, NC Tina Craft of Chatham Nine great grandchildren Two sisters Della Beadles of Mebane, NC Gertrude Warren of South Boston, VA Two special caregivers, Kathy Jones and Faye Kean Also preceded in death by four sisters, Shirley Crews, Virginia Short, Lacy Cade, and Dorothy Adams, and by five brothers, Tell Jones, Barkley Jones, Ralph Jones, Frank Jones , and Rayburn Jones A memorial service will be held at Powell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Alan Epps conducting the service. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 PM and other times at his home, 1145 Beaver Pond Road, Nathalie.
