Russell Wade Duffer

Mr. Russell Wade Duffer of Halifax, VA passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at his home. He was born in Halifax County, VA on December 11, 1942 and was 72 years old. He was the son of the late Berkley Jeffress Duffer and Sara King Duffer was married to Elizabeth Adkins Duffer, who survives. He was an oil delivery driver with Maddox Oil Company and was director of maintenance at the National Guard Armory. Mr. Russell Wade Duffer is survived by: His Wife Elizabeth Adkins Duffer of Halifax One daughter Janice Powell and husband Lorenzo Montiel of Scottsburg Three sons Jeff Duffer and wife Patricia of Clover Curtis Duffer and wife Leslie of Alton Floyd Powell and wife Tanya of Scottsburg Two sisters Shirley Whitt of Alton Joyce Tuck and husband Baxter of Roxboro, NC Two brothers Thomas Duffer and wife Juanita of Saxe Eddie Duffer and wife Cathy of Danville Seven grandchildren Chad Duffer and wife Caitlin of Clays Mill, Ashley Powell of Blackstone, Hunter Powell of Scottsburg, Christian Aleman-Fernandez of Scottsburg, Joseph Duffer of Alton, Mason Powell of Scottsburg, and Abigail Duffer of Alton. One great grandchild Grace Marie Duffer He was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Smith and one brother, Glen Duffer A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ed Melvin and Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
