Jean Smith Throckmorton

Mrs. Jean Smith Throckmorton of Scottsburg, VA passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born April 23, 1942 in Halifax County, VA and was 72 years old. She was the daughter of the late Alexander Samuel Smith and Mabel Edna Wallace Smith and was married to Jimmie Hagood Throckmorton. She was a member of the Scottsburg Baptist Church where she kept the nursery for many years. Mrs. Jean S. Throckmorton is survived by: Her Husband Jimmie Hagood Throckmorton of Scottsburg Two sons Jimmie Darrell Throckmorton and wife Denise of Scottsburg Timothy Scott Throckmorton and fiance Katherine Hart Landford of Scottsburg One sister Barbara Ann Seamster and husband J.T. of Victoria Four Half Brothers Samuel Smith, Alexander Smith, Anthony Smith, and John Smith, all of Detroit, MI Five grandchildren Christy Lynn Throckmorton Conner and husband Benjamin of Scottsburg Jimmie Lee Throckmorton and wife Kimberly of Scottsburg Dennis Ira Throckmorton and wife Amy of Scottsburg Hunter Landford and Grace Landford of Scottsburg Five great grandchildren Brianna Conner, Haylee Throckmorton, Aidan Throckmorton, Savannah Throckmorton, and Layla Throckmorton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Scottsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Scearce and Rev. Brian Smultz officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
