Geneva Snead Andrews

Mrs. Geneva Snead Andrews of Halifax, VA passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County in the Dryburg Community on November 1, 1941 and was 73 years old. She was the daughter of the late Pete Sydney Snead and Vivian Conner Snead. She was a member of Fork Baptist Church, was a bus driver with the Halifax County School System and the Tri-County Community Action Agency, and retired from Burlington Industries after 32 years of service. Survivors include: One daughter Teresa Woosley and friend Duane Murphy of Halifax Foster daughter Kimberly Boomhower of Mebane, NC Foster son Burt Childrey of Halifax Granddaughter Kristan Goldsmith of Crewe Great granddaughter Emily Goldsmith of Crewe Sisters Ruth Hazelwood of Clover Connie Perkins and husband Thurman of Halifax One brother John Snead of Scottsburg Special friends Garry and Becky Allen of Halifax Sarah Powell of Scottsburg Preceded in death by one brother, Sam P. Snead and five sisters, Sally Powell, Annie Hatcher, Arie Martin, Helen Ritt, and Ella Powell A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Connie and Thurman Perkins, 1110 Billy's Lane, Halifax.
