Julia Owen Jones

Mrs. Julia Owen Jones of Halifax, Virginia died Friday, March 13, 2015 at Berry Hill Health and Rehab Center in South Boston, VA. She was born in Halifax County, VA June 8, 1927 and was 87 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Hatcher Bailey Owen and Serena Hughes Owen and was married to the late William Tell Jones. Mrs. Jones was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church. Mrs. Julia Owen Jones is survived by: Nieces: Louise, Jean, Debbie & Terry Nephews: Mark, Martin, Henry, Robert & Larry A number of other nieces and nephews One Brother-in-law: Billy Jones of Nathalie Four Sisters-in-law: Della Beadles of Nathalie Gertrude Warren of South Boston Joanne Jones of Crystal Hill Kathy Jones of Nathalie Many other relatives and friends ***In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: Siblings: Frank Owen, Bessie Simmons, Gertrude Owen, Jessie Owen, James Owen, & John Owen. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Julia Owen Jones will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00 P. M. at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday at Powell Funeral Home from 1:30 to 2:30 prior to the service.
